Rentenkommission "Verlässlicher Generationenvertrag"

In parallel to the introduction of the double stop line, the grand coalition introduced the pension insurance contract in 2018. This commission is to deal with the challenges of securing and further developing the statutory pension insurance and the other two pension pillars (occupational and private pension) for the time after 2025. The result/sugesstions should be presented in March 2020. Among other things, the determinats of the pension insurance are to be brought into a long-term balance and a proposal should be given which minimum reserve is required to ensure the cover of the annual liquidity of the statutory pension insurance. It includes representatives from the social partners, politics and science. Among other, Prof. Börsch-Supan is a member of the pension committee. As a result, the MEA will prepare scientific expertise within the framework of the Pension Commission. Among other things, this includes the creation of various projections of the statutory pension insurance with MEA-PENSIM, on the basis of which the framework conditions for possible pension reforms can be examined.

The Commission issued its report in March 2020. In addition, two discussion papers were published based on the work for the Commission.
