The course is intended to provide students with the necessary tools for the comparative study of health systems. This objective will be achieved through the analysis of problems that have emerged, at national and global level, in the management of the COVID-19 pandemic and of the health emergency that it has caused. After completing the course, students will have acquired a good knowledge of the different ways in which the various legal systems deal with guaranteeing the right to health and access to health services. In fact, they will be able to recognise the different models of organisation and financing of health care and interpret through this key the ways in which welfare is guaranteed at a comparative level. In addition, students will be asked to think critically about the different challenges faced by health systems during the COVID-19 pandemic.
