Fieldwork Monitoring in the Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe (SHARE)

This project documents how monitoring of fieldwork is done in during the main data collections of the Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe (SHARE) by using the conceptual framework of total survey error as a guiding principle. Constant revisons are done to technological background of monitoring and managing fieldwork as software and governance keeps chaning in SHARE. Findings on selected indicators are presented in each SHARE wave through fortnightly reports to contracted survey agencies during the entire data collection period. In addition, bilateral communication happens to give advice on corrective action, mostly on interviewer level by providing interviewer-level report cards.
