The workshop will be organized by the Max Planck Society and the University of Hamburg on May 29-30, 2018. It will take place next to the Nymphenburg Palace in Munich.

The aim of the conference is to bring together economists, econometricians, statisticians and social scientists using big data methods for their applied and/or theoretical research. We welcome submissions related to all aspects of machine learning, including sparse modeling, Lasso, random forests, boosting, neural networks and deep learning, and applications in microeconomics, macroeconomics or related fields.
