Harmonized Cognitive Assessment Protocol (HCAP)

The Harmonized Cognition Assessment Protocol (HCAP) is a one hour in-depth cognitive assessment and a 20-minute informant interview which will be conducted in sub-samples of SHARE respondents in five European countries. The project is part of a global initiative to assess cognitive impairment within ongoing aging studies and has already been successfully conducted in the United States, Great Britain, India, China and South Africa.

The goal is to study the prevalence, predictors, and outcomes of cognitive impairment and dementia in Europe.
