The purpose of this project is to investigate the reasons for continuing working after retirement. For this, we compare the financial, social and health-related situation of working and non-working pensioners with a focus on the male population in Germany. Analyses are mostly descriptive and indicate that self-realization and social contacts are a more decisive factor than financial problems. This is partly confirmed by a multinomial regression.
