Dr. Christian Günther Awarded LMU Faculty Prize
His doctoral thesis is among the best: Dr. Christian Günther has now received the Faculty Prize of the Faculty of Law at Ludwig Maximilian University in recognition of his outstanding achievements. Günther completed both his dissertation entitled “Artificial Intelligence, Patient Autonomy and Informed Consent”, which he wrote at the Max Planck Institute for Social Law and Social Policy, and the oral examination with the highest grade summa cum laude.
In his doctoral thesis, Christian Günther analysed the interaction between innovation and law in Great Britain and California, using the example of medical artificial intelligence, particularly with regard to the requirements for informed consent of patients. The successful young scientist is now employed as a postdoc at the institute and, among other things, investigates the functioning of healthcare systems in different countries.
Günther received the award of the Faculty of Law in the form of a certificate and a fine silver coin, which were presented by the Dean during the academic doctoral and graduation ceremony together with the doctoral certificate. The faculty's seal, which differs slightly from the one of the LMU, is embossed on the coin.
