Prof. Elisabeth Wacker, Head of the Fellow Group at the Max Planck Institute for Social Law and Social Policy, is Chairwoman of the Academic Advisory Board for the 3rd Participatory Report of the Federal Government on the Living Conditions of People with Disabilities, which has now been convened by the Federal Minister of Labour and Social Affairs, Hubertus Heil. The report is intended to show how people with disabilities live in Germany and what opportunities for participation they have. By means of a comprehensive representative survey, the views of those affected will also be included. Ten representatives from various scientific disciplines have been appointed to the Scientific Advisory Board, among them Dr. Martina Brandt, a former employee of the Institute and now professor at the TU Dortmund. The Fellow Group of the Max Planck Institute for Social Law and Social Policy, together with the Chairs of Sociology of Diversity at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and at the Leopold Franzens University Innsbruck, organized a workshop on the topic "Diversity in Science: Foundations, Research and Implementation". Numerous existing and planned research projects were discussed and examined for diversity aspects with the help of various scientific disciplines (including law, political science and anthropology).

Das Max-Planck-Institut für Sozialrecht und Sozialpolitik gratuliert Katharina Crepaz, PhD, zum Friedwart Bruckhaus-Förderpreis der Hanns Martin Schleyer-Stiftung. Die Wissenschaftlerin der Max Planck Fellow-Gruppe erhielt die Auszeichnung für Ihren Beitrag "Unabhängigkeitsbewegungen in der EU: Differenzierte Integration und ,Europa der Regionen' als Gegenmodell?", der 2015 in dem Band "Der Anfang vom Ende? Formen differenzierter Integration und ihre Konsequenzen" erschienen ist. Crepaz untersuchte darin den Reformbedarf der europäischen Institutionen vor dem Hintergrund eines subsidiären Politikansatzes. Laura Dobusch, member of the Max Planck Fellow Group at the Max Planck Institute for Social Law and Social Policy has recently been awarded by the Institut Mensch, Ethik und Wissenschaft (IMEW) for her paper on “Disability and Gender in the Focus of Diversity Management: Unequal Inclusion Dynamics?” in Berlin. The prize is granted biennially to young scientists who conduct research into topics such as Science’s Social Responsibility, Disability Management and Social Participation. The IMEF strives to increase awareness of people with disabilities and chronic conditions within the economy, politics and society.
