The Max Planck Institute for Social Law and Social Policy in Munich, Germany, is a research facility of the Max Planck Society for the Advancement of Science (Max-Planck-Gesellschaft zur Förderung der Wissenschaften e.V.). For the research project „PERGAP – The (Mis)Perception of Economic Inequality: The Impact of Welfare State Institutions on Social Perception and Preference Formation” headed by Dr. Simone Schneider and supported by the European Research Council (ERC Starting Grant 2021, Project 101042125) the Department of Foreign and International Social Law is seeking applications for

Student Assistants (m/w/div)
(min. 8 hours/week)

Your tasks

In your position as a student assistant, you will be supporting the work of the above-mentioned project. You will assist in the development of a contextual database for comparing and investigating social policies across Europe and beyond. Your duties will primarily include: researching data and literature, collecting and coding datasets, and supporting the creation and administration of the project’s website and social media channels.

Your profile

  • Ongoing Bachelor or Master Studies of a social science-related discipline at a German university with above average academic achievements
  • Ability to work in a team and interest in interdisciplinary research
  • Good command of English and, if possible, of further languages
