Our Institute is a research facility established by the Max Planck Society for the Advancement of Science (Max-Planck-Gesellschaft zur Förderung der Wissenschaften e.V.). We are offering

Postdoctoral Positions (m/f/d) in Social Law, Social Policy and/or Welfare State History

Your tasks

Comparative, transnational and interdisciplinary approaches to these research fields are particularly welcome. Scientists are expected to participate in the Institute’s projects and will also have the opportunity to develop their own postdoctoral research project.

Your profile

Applicants should hold a PhD in law, a social science discipline or history, have experience in research on social protection and the ability to work in a team. Full proficiency in English is a requirement, additional languages skills are desirable, obtaining basic proficiency in German is expected.

We offer

We would like to fill these positions as soon as possible. The position is a fixed-term appointment for three years, with a possible extension of three years.

We offer attractive working conditions in a modern, well-equipped institute with a global network. Our institute holds the world’s largest social law library and is located close to LMU Munich. Postdoctoral researchers are paid and receive social benefits in accordance with the German Civil Service Collective Agreement (TVöD-Bund).
